Who are we?
Local Networks Alliance is a Canadian owned and operated not-for-profit headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario.
Our mission is to help build strong local economies with vibrant trade. To achieve this, we act as a neutral convener, helping businesses connect across industries and helping communities organize, align, and act in ways that deliver shared local benefit. We’ll help your community come together and take concrete steps, from reducing costs, implementing digital tools, and strengthening supply chains, to growing talent and increasing your client base.
So what does it look like to work with us?
We help businesses come together with others in their community to tackle shared challenges and create new opportunities. We guide you through working collectively, building connections, coordinating efforts, taking action, and sharing the capacity and capabilities needed to grow, adapt, and scale, together. This work is led by business owners and community partners who are willing to step forward, shape priorities, and help their peers move from challenge to action.

Creating networks
We bring local businesses and partners together to build stronger connections and identify shared opportunities. Through facilitated sessions and ongoing coordination, we help communities move from isolated challenges to collective action. This is about creating the space, structure, and trust needed for people to work together in practical ways.
Supporting local strategies
We work with businesses and organizations to better understand where coordinated action can make the biggest difference. That includes helping define priorities, proposing practical solutions, and supporting networks as they take concrete steps — from early ideas to real-world implementation.
Providing digital tools and infrastructure
We help businesses leverage simple, low-cost digital tools that make it easier to work together. This can include tools for communication, promotion, coordination, and day-to-day operations. Our focus is on practical solutions that reduce costs, save time, and help local businesses participate more easily in the local economy

Building Local Networks
We are looking for local business leaders to step forward, work with us and help convene peers, shape shared priorities, and guide collective action. Leaders do not need to have all the answers—they help create the conditions for collaboration and progress.
We are looking for local champions — business owners and community leaders willing to help bring others together and shape local networks that can turn shared challenges into practical action.

Local Networks helps communities strengthen their local economy by helping businesses work together in practical ways. We support municipalities, BIAs, chambers of commerce, and other local organizations that want to build stronger downtowns, healthier small businesses, and a more resilient local economy.
We help communities access low-cost shared digital infrastructure that makes local coordination easier, support collective efforts to grow and retain talent, and help businesses work with suppliers in ways that can lower costs, reduce risk, and strengthen local supply chains.
Through grants, contracts, and funding partnerships, local organizations can help launch or strengthen a Local Network Collective in their area. That funding can support coordination, facilitation, and a practical projects that produces measurable outcomes, useful learnings, and a stronger foundation for future investment. We bring the structure, tools, and delivery support; local partners help align the work to community priorities and, together, we build the support needed to grow it over time.

Our Team
Professional depth
Our team brings experience across public sector strategy, public affairs, communications, education, research, marketing, and community engagement. We know how to listen, organize, build partnerships, and turn complex challenges into practical next steps.
We also bring strong technical depth, including experience in AI and technology development, with work spanning machine learning, app development, VR/AR, training simulations, product design, and the management of large technology projects. Together, we combine strategic thinking with delivery skills — from facilitation and stakeholder engagement to digital tools, implementation, and problem-solving.
Grounded in real small-business life
We are not just advisors looking in from the outside. We have also owned and worked in small businesses, local associations, start-ups, and boutique professional firms.
We may not have lived every situation, but we understand tight margins, staffing pressure, supplier risk, customer retention, and the challenge of trying to improve things while managing the day-to-day. We know how hard it can be, and that is why we are deeply invested in helping local businesses and communities grow stronger together.
